Met veel trots stel ik jullie graag mijn nieuwste hobbyproject voor:
Fake Vintage Book Covers.

Pin-up tekeningen met een twist!
Of, zoals ik op de achterkaft van de boekjes schrijf:

An attractive woman,
a captivating title
and a sensational blurb…

Those were the (not so) secret ingredients of the American pulp
magazines and paperbacks from the 1920s until the 1960s.

The stories were written cheaply and printed on even cheaper
paper, but it were the full-colour covers that made them stand
out AND made them sell so well.

The cover became so important that sometimes it would be
designed first; authors would then be shown the cover art and
asked to write a story around it.

This publication is a tribute to those artists and designers, speci­-
fically to the art of Robert McGinnis and Robert Maguire, whose
subjects weren’t mere damsels in distress but elegant, sexy and
intelligent women.

I also like to portray women with confidence and with a sparkle
in their eye; not as empty-headed bimbos.

Above all, this is an ode to them.

Een ode aan de Amerikaanse pulp magazine -en paperbackcovers van de jaren ‘20 tot ‘60. Meer dan honderd uitdagende covers verspreid over zes boekjes!
Ieder boekje telt zo’n 20 pagina’s in kleur en kost €5.

De boekjes zijn enkel verkrijgbaar op signeersessies (of stuur een mailtje)
in een setje van drie. Ieder boekje wordt uiteraard voorzien van een signeertekening.

Een must voor iedere collectie!
